Peri West is the head women's lacrosse coach at Thomas College and the director of lacrose for XCEL Lacrosse Maine.
West is beginning her first season as the head coach of Thomas College in Waterville, ME. She spent the previous four years at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas; a program she started from scratch and the first collegiate women's lacrosse program in Arkansas. After spending the 2013 season recruiting, the Warriors posted back-to-back 4-10 seasons in 2014 and 2015 and an 8-8 mark in 2016.
From 2010-2012, Peri launched the Mount Ida College women’s lacrosse program and lead them to a 21-26 record in three seasons and earned and three consecutive trips to the Greater Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. West coached eight All-GNAC and the league's 2012 Defensive Player of the Year and 2012 Rookie of the Year while at Mount Ida.
Coach west has also coached at Weston High School (MA) and spent three season at her alma mater, Wheaton College (Norton, MA). At Wheaton she helped the Lyons to a fifth straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament title game in 2006.
As a player for Wheaton, West was named team captain twice and helped capture the program's first two NEWMAC titles. She started in 68 games during her career, missing just one game. West helped the Lyons to a 20-4 mark in NEWMAC games and advance to the NCAA Tournament twice. In her senior season, West led the team to the NCAA Division III national quarterfinals. She totaled 53 goals and 23 assists for 76 points during her career as a midfielder and was twice named first team All-NEWMAC.
Peri also brings a wealth of international playing and coaching experience having coached in England, playing in the Czech Republic and most recently has taken on the role as amember of the coaching staff for the Colombian National Team as the prepare for the Lacrosse World Cup in England in July 2017.
